The “International Featured Standard” Food was developed in 2003 and has since been continuously improved in cooperation with international producers, trade and the catering industry. The standard combines food safety and quality and is thus a suitable tool to test the food producers’ competences. (The IFS allows for the comparability of companies due to a standardized evaluation system.) Within an IFS Food Audit by an accredited certification authority, all areas of food production are evaluated in regard to their safety and quality. Anxious to ensure progress, this certificate expires after one year, at which point the company has to be certified anew.
For years, Güssinger Beverages & Mineral Water GmbH has had its production of mineral water and refreshments certified according to this standard and has been awarded the certificate “on a higher level”.
